Who is Noise Cans? Noise Cans is a one-of-a-kind sound. It is a musical experience that is part carnival, part incantation, and pure electronic celebration. My music is a reflection of my Caribbean Island influences with a blend of modern-day electronic sounds.
Who does Noise Cans represent? Noise Cans represents every artist, creative, person(s) who feel that their style, art, energy is a little left of center and misunderstood.
Music today tends to cross many genres, as we become more and more connected to the world around us. How would you describe the music that you typically create? It varies to be honest. When I first started it was all about mixing Caribbean with electronic sounds but as I’ve grown as an artist I’ve realized that I didn’t want to pigeon hole myself into one style. I love music so I look to create the best version of what I feel in that moment.
What is the name of the record? The name of the track is “Last Night”
When some people write lyrics or create art, they channel energy from somewhere, whether it be a feeling or moment in time. Where did the inspiration come from to create “Last Night”? My friend Romario who I collaborated with on the record sent me a demo that he was working on and I liked the feel of it. I added my touch to it, we added Kaelyn and that was it.
Typically, when an artist creates, there are projects that hold more personal value or meaning, depending on who was involved or how it relates to their lives. What does the track mean to you? It means a lot to me. I got to create a song with 2 of my good friends. Truly an amazing feeling.
You have a featuring artist on “Last Night” who is from Bermuda. Pop singer and performing artist, Kaelyn Kastle. Why did you choose her to express the feeling of this record? I was always a fan of Kaelyn, and I envisioned the vocal having a Caribbean poppy feel and she fit that when I was thinking about a vocalist. I also like to include Bermudian artist in my projects, so it was a perfect match.
The days of album releases seem to be less and less with the new age of streaming culture. Is the song part of an EP, Album or is it a single? The song is just a single.
As we know, there are a lot of independent artists who release records now on their own without having signed to a label, due to the access . Has the song been released on a label, if so, which one? Yes, the song is released on Skink Recrods. Skink is the superstar Dutch DJ/producer duo Showtek’s label.
Who are you trying to reach with your music? I’m trying to reach the world. I’ve been fortunate to be able travel and perform for fans around the world. In doing so I’ve been inspired by different cultures and sounds. I try to include these elements in the music that I create.
Do you plan on working with local artist in the future and why or why not? Yes, of course. I work with local artist all the time. My last EP “Dutty Mas” I had Brixx featured on “Take Over” and Kaelyn is on “Last Night”. There is a lot of talent in Bermuda so there will definitely be more collaborations.
Who are your biggest influences? My influences vary but a few of my biggest influences are the Gombey’s, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Cirque du Soleil , fashion, and art. These are all elements that I include in my music, style and overall being.
