In our new series of interviews we are looking to interview and get to know local Bermudian business owners and entrepreneurs. They can be just starting or been in business for years, but we want to get to know what got them started and what has made them successful.
The goal is to help the community get to know the great people behind the businesses people see and use every day, and to hopefully inspire anyone to start their own business some day….
How did the idea for your business come about?
Deshay Caines: I had just graduated university and could not find a job. I have a dear family friend that was getting married and the rest as they say is history.
What is the significant difference your business brings to the market?
Deshay Caines: Youthful Exuberance, There are so many people in the field that are content with the way they are doing business, and to be fair that is great, but couples are getting younger and are not sticking to the same traditional way of getting married.
How did you decide on the location for your business?
Deshay Caines: Most is not all of my business comes through via, website, social media, and emails. I could truly be anywhere.
How important have good employees been to your success?
Deshay Caines: Good employees are immeasurable. being able to trust someone is everything.
Describe/outline your typical day?
Deshay Caines: A typical wedding/event day… hmmmm there is no such thing. Every bride/client is different, every venue has different requirements. It is all about making it happen and keeping your clients happy.
What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
Deshay Caines: After every event/wedding we send our clients a review email, asking them to rate and review TPG services. This particular couple I was very hesitant as them did not seem happy about anything. It rained their entire day, food orders where wrong, I mean everything that could go wrong did. They ended up writing an amazing review and it just proved once again why I love what I do.
What has been your most successful form of marketing?
Deshay Caines: social media!!!!
How do you build a successful customer base?
Deshay Caines: Simple, advertising. Weddings are unique in the fact that your couple are not recurring customers (well you hope not) so we advertise locally and overseas. Also never under estimate the power of a great referral.
What kind of culture exists in your organization?
Deshay Caines: Our culture is different in the sense that I am the only full time employee and my wedding/event assistants are there on the day.

Deshay Caines: Bermuda Bride, To have and to Hold, and Bridal suite
Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?
Deshay Caines: Expanding into the marker more, I do not want to give to many details but we have somethings in the works that will continue to set us apart from others.
